Pedro and Mai created Beautifood in 2017 out of a pressing need for a change in the corporate events catering scene in Brussels. Their goal was to revolutionize corporate event catering by providing delicious and beautifully presented dishes that prioritize health and nutrition.

Eight years later, Beautifood stands as a testament to Pedro and Mai’s commitment.

The Flavor Alchemist

Yen Mai, a Vietnamese native born shortly after the war, discovered her passion for gastronomy very young assisting her parents in their street food restaurant located in Hanoï. Over several years, she nurtured her passion and expanded her knowledge with determination and hard work.

In 2000, Yen Mai graduated from Hanoi College of Commerce and Tourism with a degree in World Cuisine Techniques. After that, she relocated to Italy, where she spent four years before moving to Belgium. Throughout her culinary journey, Yen Mai embraced the flavors and techniques of European cuisine, blending them with her Vietnamese heritage. This unique fusion of culinary influences became the foundation of her gastronomic philosophy.

Yen Mai is the driving force behind Beautifood's success.

With her innovative approach and passion for vegetables she has infused Beautifood with a sustainable, green culinary values that emphasizes flavor and environmental consciousness.

The Architect of Efficiency

Graduated in Management of Hotel Operations from the Ecole hôtelière de Lausanne, Pedro brings to Beautifood over 20 years of extensive experience in food & beverage and event management.

His career commenced in esteemed establishments managed by high-level hotel companies, such as InterContinental Hotel Group and Hilton Worlwide. Before ‘landing’ in Brussels, Pedro worked in Switzerland, USA, Spain, and France, where he honed his expertise in team leadership, financial oversight, and annual budget preparation, consistently ensuring the highest levels of customer satisfaction.

 

His skills in strategic planning and operational efficiency, together with sustainable and green management practices, contributed to the success of the various establishments he managed.

 

By implementing these practices, he aims to enhance Beautifood operations, elevate customer satisfaction, while contributing to a greener future.
